Information
The Pads for Girls in Africa Initiative is not only about providing menstrual products — it’s about empowering women and girls to live with dignity, confidence, and opportunity. Access to pads means that girls no longer have to miss school, feel ashamed, or risk their health during their periods. It also means women can become community leaders by learning how to make and distribute reusable pads, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

Empowering women and girls in africa
What makes the Pads for Girls in Africa Initiative truly stand out is its holistic and sustainable approach to women’s empowerment. While many programs focus on short-term aid or awareness, GivHerPower goes beyond giving — we build lasting change through education, empowerment, and economic opportunity.

A holistic approach
We address menstrual health not just as a hygiene issue, but as a matter of dignity, education, and equality. Our program combines pad distribution with menstrual health education, emotional support, and open conversations that challenge stigma.

Led by women, for women
The initiative is designed and led by African women who understand the cultural, social, and economic barriers that girls face. This makes our approach relatable, respectful, and effective in reaching the heart of each community.
Initiative goals
Over the next year, the Pads for Girls in Africa Initiative aims to: Increase access to menstrual hygiene products for girls in underserved communities. Promote education and awareness around menstrual health and hygiene. Empower girls through skills and leadership training, fostering confidence and independence. Create sustainable economic opportunities, such as local production or distribution of pads.
